The perfect getaway

"We had a wonderful time at Foxghyll - the House is very comfortable, warm, brightly lit, very well kept and extremely quiet. We were warmly welcomed and given alot of guidance from Paul Mann (the owner) about treks, restaurants, routes, etc. The rooms are warm, well furnished and very private with a view onto the garden which is really lovely. Staying in such a lovely, well kept and treasured property added to the enjoyment of our short break. We will definitely go back."

Highly recommended for a relaxing break in the lakes

Warm welcome. Lovely large room with a view. Country house in a quiet location yet walking distance into Ambleside. Very interesting listed country house. Large grounds and ample parking. Very comfortable bed and armchairs in large bedroom. Spa bath. Excellent freshly cooked breakfast. Friendly and helpful owner.

Beautiful house in a lovely location

Although the local council had left the "Road Closed" signs in the road to our B&B, we were glad we persevered and found a beautiful house in a lovely quiet location. We were met by two chihuahuas that my wife wanted to adopt straight away. Paul made us very welcome showing us around. The house has lots of fascinating items that show it is also someone's home. We attempted the wooden puzzles on the dining room tables each morning, but failed miserably.

A luxurious break in beautiful, peaceful surroundings

My friend and I had a large, light, airy room with a view of the front garden and direct access to the back garden and the fell. The bathroom was enormous with a spa bath and all the comfort we could wish for and to crown it all there was a second toilet and shower just next door in case of need.
